Hi, I am Emily, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. I am trained as an EMDR therapist for adults and children. I also have experience in working with adults and children on depression, anxiety, trauma, life's transitions, and self-esteem.

I believe that counseling creates the opportunity for individuals to learn, grow, and eventually thrive. By building a trusting relationship with my clients, I have confidence that change can happen. I understand that each individual is unique and deserves to have a fulfilling life. I work to allow a space that provides unconditional positive regard, empathy, and tools for growth.

When I am out of the office, I am likely enjoying spending time with my  daughter and husband. I love being able to connect with nature and spending time being outside.

 Get to know Emily

  •  I went to Virginia Tech for both my Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and my Master’s in Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

  • “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It's not.” -The Lorax

  • I love being able to connect with people and embrace them as they are. Through collaboration with my clients, I explore client’s values and beliefs to help them identify how they can live a fulfilling life. I practice through a person-centered lens and evidence-based approach.

  • The best type of day would start with a slow morning enjoying coffee while watching a TV show or reading. I would love to then explore outside with my husband and daughter (preferably on a cool, fall day.) To wrap the day up, I’d enjoy a nice home cooked meal.
