Hello, my name is Lenisha Marie Milow (she/her/hers), and I am a Resident Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia. I bring a compassionate, client-centered approach to my work as a therapist, creating a safe space where individuals feel heard and supported. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialty in substance use, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology.
Early in my career, I worked in a juvenile detention facility, an experience that deeply shaped my passion for supporting youth and affirmed my commitment to helping young people understand their emotions, build healthy coping skills, and express themselves authentically.
Creating a safe and supportive space is at the heart of my practice. I am dedicated to helping individuals of all ages find peace, balance, and fulfillment in their lives. Building meaningful connections with my clients is deeply important to me, and I strive to walk alongside them with empathy, respect, and encouragement as they move toward growth and healing.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy traveling, capturing meaningful moments on film, working on puzzles, and spending quality time with my family and friends. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which I thoughtfully integrate into my practice to support clients in processing and healing from difficult experiences.
