Hello there! My name is Madelyn Grigsby (she/her) and I am a Resident in Counseling in Virginia currently working toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I proudly received my Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University August of 2025, and completed my undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech, where I double-majored in Psychology and Human Development with a minor in Adaptive Brain and Behavior.
I work with adolescents, adults, and couples. As a therapist, I pull from a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and mindfulness techniques. I aim to customize my therapeutic tool-belt to best fit the needs of each of my clients. To me, there is no one size fits all when it comes to therapy. I believe each of my clients deserve tailored, holistic care. At the heart of my work is a strong belief in the power of the therapeutic relationship. I do my best to create a warm, open, and collaborative environment where my clients can feel safe to explore, reflect, and grow. I am also a lifelong learner, always seeking to expand my worldview and keep an open mind, which is something I believe is essential both in therapy and in life. Let's grow together!
Outside of sessions, I love traveling, running, spending time with friends and family, and taking care of my plants and sweet cat.
